How to Make Vocabulary Interesting for Your Students
Vocabulary is the building block of reading and writing. Without a strong vocabulary, students are unable to advance their literary skills. While learning new vocabulary words may not be the most thrilling lesson plan for students, teachers can make it more interesting by finding activities that boost student engagement. Getting students to enjoy learning vocabulary words will help them retain the information and look forward to reading and writing.
1. Play vocabulary games in class, such as Bingo Lingo. Bingo Lingo is a spin on the Bingo board game that gives students practice recognizing Latin- and Greek-based root words.
